Sports & Recreation
Physical exercise and activity are important parts of a student's emotional growth. We believe that in addition to promoting physical well-being, these activities also motivate students and help them develop self-esteem and a positive self-image. Each day begins with morning calisthenics followed by a brisk jog around the schools half-mile running track. The school day ends with mandatory Physical Education classes, part of a student's school curriculum.
Students play organized team sports such as flag football, basketball, volleyball, softball, and soccer. Students that have been at Bridges Academy for some time and have consistently demonstrated a willingness to make their individualized program work, earn other recreational-type activities such as weightlifting, Aikido, snowboarding, skiing, rock climbing and other outdoor activities.
